The Young Persons Clinic is held at the Claude Nicol Clinic (outpatients at the Royal Sussex County Hospital)
This is a drop in clinic, no appointment needed every Thursday afternoon from 3.30-5.30pm for 19 year olds and younger.
Services provided are:
Full sexual health screens for young men and women or self taken swabs/ urine test for chlamydia.
Blood tests for HIV, Hepatitis and syphilis
Hepatitis vaccination A and B for people at risk
Free treatment for any infection found
Pregnancy testing
Contraception including contraceptive pills Depo -Provera injection and emergency contraception
Free condoms
Referral to other services as appropriate
This is confidential friendly service for young people.
Young people less than 16 years old have the same rights to confidentiality as those over 16 years old.
You will not have any information about your attendance here passed on to anyone outside of the GUM service (like your parents, teachers, social workers etc) without your knowing about it and agreeing to it. The only time this may be different, is if you tell us that you or someone else is in a dangerous situation and our telling someone else may prevent you or them from being harmed. If a member of staff felt that they had to pass on information without your permission, they would still inform you of what they were going to do.
