I am one of the patient reps for the Lawson Unit and we try and ensure a patient perspective is taken into account by the Unit in its decision making. We do not claim to represent the views of all the users of the Unit as that would be impossible but to provide a view about the experience of coming here as a patient. We take part in the meetings of the Unit and the strategic planning days, when we have the time as we are all volunteers who do this in our spare time. We have a notice board in the waiting room for patient issues and one of the issues we have promoted is a system of giving a rough waiting for people walking in to give blood. We are also happy to speak or to people if they have difficulties with the way services are provided or are unhappy with system they operate or you can write to us at the Lawson Unit. We cannot deal with individual complaints but can tell people how they can make official complaints. There are only a few of us so if you would also like to help we would be really grateful and happy to speak to you about the role and what we do. Robert
