Where can I get condoms?

You can get them free from family planning clinics, GUM services and some GPs.

You can buy them from pharmacies, vending machines, supermarkets and other shops......or buy them online and have them delivered directly to your door!

Do they come in different shapes and sizes?

Yes! Male condoms come in a variety of types, shapes and sizes to suit everyone. It's worth experimenting with a few different types to find one that suits you.

What if I'm allergic to rubber?

Non- latex alternatives are available for men and women who are sensitive to latex.

I'm worried using a condom will decrease my enjoyment of sex....

Sex is far better when you're relaxed and confident, so understanding how to use a condom properly beforehand will help.

Sometimes people can get very worried about infection risks after having unprotected sex - knowing that you have reduced the risk by using a condom can help provide peace of mind, and that can mean more enjoyable sex!

Using a small amount of water based lubricant on the tip on the penis before the condom is applied can help increase sensation.

What if using a condom means I lose my erection?

This can happen, the main thing is not to worry....using a condom can take practice. Sometimes it can be helpful to experiment away from a sexual partner. Try putting the condom on and masturbating to get used to the process, without the pressure of having someone else around. If you are experiencing any difficulties using condoms, you can talk it through with a health adviser.
